How to Make Silly Faces Mix-and-Match Cards

Read all of the steps before starting.
Step 1: Project Preparation

Pre-cut cards from the white cardstock. A sheet of cardstock cut into quarters makes good-size cards. Each set of mix-and-match cards requires at least three faces, so each child will need three or more cards.

Step 2: Draw Faces

Draw a face on each card in your set using a pencil. Make sure that the face fills the card and that all of the faces are about the same size on each card in the set.

The faces can include hats, clothing, jewelry, mustaches, glasses, etc. Cartoon-type faces with exaggerated ears and eyes and funny hair are the most fun.

Step 3: Color

Use a black marker or crayon to go over the pencil lines, and then add a bit of color to each drawing.

Step 4: Cut the Cards

Cut each card into three pieces using a paper trimmer or scissors. Make one cut just above the eyes and eyebrows, and the other cut just below the mouth.

Step 5: Mix and Match

Mix up all the pieces, then put them together into new faces. See how many funny faces can be made from your set of cards. Mix your cards with a friend's to make even more funny faces.

Store your mix-and-match set in an envelope or plastic bag.

That's it! How many face combinations can you make?
